WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?
Personal information collected during registration includes your name, address, and telephone number. In the future we may ask for demographic information like age, income level, profession, and investing habits. These demographic questions will always be optional for you to answer. Credit card information is collected when you sign up for a premium membership to SoundMindInvesting.com or when you purchase a product through the site.
USES OF REGISTRATION INFORMATION
We use your name, address, and email address to contact you about SoundMindInvesting.com and to send you information about Sound Mind Investing products. Registration information also enables us to process and verify subscriptions.
Any demographic information we collect is used in aggregate only. Your individual data is never used or released. This type of aggregate information helps us tremendously in determining what financial content to focus on and optimizing the on-line viewing experience for our readers. Knowing you better helps us to create a product that serves you better.

This does open the possibility of receiving unsolicited email. (Having our message boards locked greatly reduces the risk, but doesn't completely eliminate it.)
The SMI staff regularly monitors the information posted to the Message Boards, and makes every effort to make sure it is accurate. However, we encourage you to be reasonably skeptical about the information posted in this area. The message boards can be a great source of investing information and ideas, but don't rely exclusively on information posted here - always do your own research as well. SMI cannot be responsible for the accuracy of any information posted in the Message Board area of SoundMindInvesting.com, and will not be responsible for trading or investing decisions made based on such information.

SMI uses industry standard security measures, such as encryption and authentication, to protect your credit card information. While we make every effort to protect your information, no transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure. However, the odds of someone gaining unauthorized access to your credit card information over the Internet are infinitely smaller than having that information obtained in a face-to-face credit card transaction using a physical credit card.
